In the beginning was the end, and in the end was the beginning. For before the beginning, all that was, is, and is to come was as one. And all who were, are, and are to come, were as the One. The One who was, is, and is to come, whose name is “I AM,” and who is known to us as God. And God saw all that was, is, and is to come. God heard the voices of all who were, are, and are to come. In the imagination of God they cried out, “Let us be!” God felt their hopes and fears and knew that there would be good and evil, but that ultimately, all would be good. So God thought, “how should I let this be?” And God knew what must be. So God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light. The light spread the heavens as far as the light could be. And the light shone upon the earth, and it was good.
It is said that salvation is by Faith alone. What is faith? Is it belief in the words of men? Is it seen in the acts of men? The words of men are imperfect, as men are imperfect. The acts of men flow from what they believe to be true, and what they know is limited. How can the words or acts of men justify them then? Would it not be luck or fate that chooses for them what place and time to be and what truth they can even know? It is hubris for men to believe that they have the power to gain salvation. Only God can see into the hearts of men and know what they truly and justly deserve. Therefore, salvation is by Grace alone.
